A few of us here at Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel and Water Playground have family and personal connections to the beautiful island of Maui in Hawaii. We are heartbroken by the images of the wildfire devastation, resulting in what is now considered the deadliest wildfire in the US in over 100 years. 

This might seem like a peculiar blog post for our website. Still, as a destination that relies on tourism and hospitality, we have an idea of how the wildfire destruction in Maui will adversely and profoundly affect the economic lives of its residents. Likewise, as residents of Southern California, we know we are one catastrophic wildfire or massive earthquake away from the hardships and heartbreak currently experienced by the people of Maui.
