In light of COVID-19, what steps is Wyndham Hotels & Resorts taking to help protect guests?

In the U.S. and Canada, we’ve launched our Count on Us initiative to put safety first with elevated cleanliness standards, an expanded relationship with Ecolab for EPA-approved disinfectants, and more.

What is your mask/face covering policy?

To protect both you and our associates, we recommend but do not require proper use of masks/face coverings in all indoor areas of the hotel. Face coverings should fit comfortably over your nose and mouth.

Are rooms serviced daily by Housekeeping?

For your comfort and convenience, Housekeeping service will only be provided every 2nd day of the duration of your stay.  Whether you just need fresh towels or a full-service cleaning, just let us know, and we’ll schedule your service.

Is breakfast included?

This hotel does not include a breakfast in the room rate as there is not a suitable facility. However, there are wonderful breakfast items available at our Main Street Market located near our lobby building on the ground floor of Building #1. A large variety of items can be found from fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, milk, juices, to lunch meat, cheese, bread and other “quick-grab” items for many meals. Stock up the fridge in your room!

Is Mimi’s Café at the hotel?

Mimi’s Café sits on our adjacent property and is just 200 feet from the lobby. Mimi’s Café operates completely independently and guests must pay directly at the restaurant. Guests are not able to charge meals back to their room. There is no complimentary breakfast included at the hotel. Mimi’s Café breakfast options range between $5 and $15 per person, depending upon what is ordered. There is a children’s menu and items can be purchased to-go (take away). Mimi’s Café has wonderful coffee drinks like lattes, mochas and other specialty drinks; get one to go on your way to Disneyland!

Is parking free? Can we park after check out?

Parking is $25 + 17.23% tax per night, and only one car per room may be parked per room. A valid parking permit will be issued at check-in. You may leave your vehicle in the parking lot until Noon on your departure day, after which it will be flagged for towing. You should move your vehicle to a Disney parking location if you intend on staying at the parks past Noon. RV and oversized vehicles which cannot fit it one parking space are not permitted.  Parking is for hotel guests ONLY.  Additional vehicles may be parked off-site at the Garden Walk at their daily fee ($30 per day).

Can we cancel our reservation without penalty?

If you booked directly with the hotel, reservations must be canceled 72-hours before your arrival to avoid the penalty of one night’s room and tax charge. If you booked through any third party, you must contact them directly to cancel your room and adhere to their specific cancelation rules as they may differ from the hotel rules. What time is check in, and what time is check out?

Check in is 4PM, and check out is 11AM.

Due to the hotel’s high occupancy levels throughout the year, early check ins and late check outs are not typically available. Early arrivals or late departures require booking the room for an additional night. The hotel does not offer half-day or partial-day rates. How many Wyndham Rewards points do I need for a free night?

15,000 points are required currently for one free night at our location. To book your room, you must go through the Wyndham Rewards desk at https://www.wyndhamrewards.com, or at 866-996-7937.

What is the pet policy?

The hotel does not allow animals.

What is the policy for minors checking in?

Minors may check into the hotel so long as the minor has a government issued form of identification and also a valid credit card in their name (matching the government identification).

Can we prepay for our room before we arrive or have somebody else pay for our room?

We do not have a prepayment option, nor do we accept third-party credit card payments. For security reasons, the registered guest must be present at the hotel with their valid credit card and ID to utilize the card upon check in, and no third-party credit cards will be accepted. If a party other than the registered guests wishes to pay for a hotel stay, our best suggestion would be to make the reservation under Expedia.com, Booking.com or another online booking company which offers a prepayment option.

Can we check in early?

The hotel guarantees rooms to be ready for check in at 4PM every day. If you arrive before that, the staff will process your check in and store your luggage until a room becomes available. The only way to guarantee a room is ready for you before 4PM, is to purchase the room for the night before your arrival day. The hotel does not offer half-day or partial-day rates. You are sold out. Can we get on your waitlist?

The hotel does not have a waitlist option. Due to the electronic, real-time nature of bookings, rooms are often cancelled and immediately re-booked online automatically. Can we check out late?

The only way to guarantee a room is available for you to stay past 11 am is to purchase the room for the night of your departure day. The hotel does not offer half-day or partial-day rates. May we send ourselves mail or packages to the hotel?

We are happy to receive up to 3 pieces of mail, or packages during your stay with us free of charge. For unusual, oversized or numerous packages please contact us for more information on storage and fees at 714-776-6120, or email to stay@hojoanaheim.com.

You must make sure that they are sent to the attention of the lead passenger name on the reservation in our system. If the names do not match, we are unable to sign for the package and it will be refused for delivery.

How far in advance can we make a reservation?

Reservations can be made approximately 54 weeks in advance. That is two weeks short of one year.

We have a birthday in our group. May we arrange something special?

The hotel’s gift shop, the Main Street Market, does offer some options. Contact the hotel directly to be transferred to the gift shop for options at 714-776-6120. You may also purchase items to be delivered to the hotel from locations such as www.disneyland.disneyfloralandgifts.com and www.maryscakeshop.com. We are happy to hold these items for your arrival.

Why are you always sold out?

Sometimes during peak times there are minimum length of stays set to make sure that we keep the hotel comfortable for each and every guest that is here. If you see we are sold out, feel free to call our in-house reservations and they can check to see if there is a minimum length of stay that you would need to meet. Also, you can feel free to check as the date gets closer to see if the minimum length of stay restrictions are removed or shortened.

What credit or debit cards do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, JCB, and Diners. Only chip enabled credit or debit cards will be accepted. Debit cards will be charged for the full room, tax and deposit upon check in.

How many people can a room accommodate?

Rooms with one king bed accommodate a maximum of 3 persons. Rooms with two double beds or two queen beds accommodate a maximum of 5 persons, including infants. All suites accommodate a maximum of 5 persons, including infants. For a family of 6 or more persons, contact us for information on interconnecting rooms, or other options. Rollaway beds – if needed – cost $15 + tax per night. Baby cots/cribs are complimentary.

What comes in a Standard Room?

Our lead-in Standard Room category includes two oversized Double beds (same length as a Queen, but slightly narrower), microwave, mini-refrigerator (like you may find in a dormitory), Keurig single-cup coffee/tea maker, coffee and tea, dual sinks, shower/tub combination, and most offer a balcony. These rooms can accommodate up to four persons using existing bedding, and can accommodate up to five persons by adding a rollaway bed (daily cost of $15 + tax), or a baby cot/crib (free of charge).

I booked through Expedia/Hotels.com/Booking.com/etc. and I would like to upgrade. How can I do it?

If you booked through any online travel agency like Expedia, you must contact them directly to upgrade your room and adhere to their specific change rules. Online travel agencies have access to most of our room types, however there are a few suites they do not have access to. I booked a travel package that includes a room. What will I get?

If you have booked your room through a third-party holiday packager (Qantas Holidays, Infinity Holidays, WestJet Vacations, Get Away Today, Walt Disney Travel, etc.), you will be placed in a Standard Room. Is there a safe in every room?

Yes. And the electronic room safes are large enough for a 15” laptop.

Is the WiFi free?

Yes. WiFi access is free in all rooms and across the hotel grounds.

Are there rooms which interconnect with a door for larger families?

Yes. The hotel has a small collection of rooms which interconnect with a door. The hotel is unable to guarantee room placement but the staff will do its very best to reserve these rooms in advance. Are there cribs (baby cots) available?

Yes. Cribs/baby cots are free of charge. Please advise us of this request and we will make a note on your reservation.

Do you offer wheelchair accessible rooms, or rooms for hearing-impaired or sight-impaired guests?

Do the rooms have microwaves, refrigerators or kettles?

All guest rooms offer both a microwave, and a mini-refrigerator (much like you would find in a dormitory room). Kettles are available to borrow for free at the front desk.

Can I request a specific room?

The hotel has nearly ten different room types in various categories and in various buildings. Each room type is sold at a different price. You may request a room location within the category that you purchased, and the staff will do their best to accommodate your request based on the rooms available on your arrival day. Rooms in a higher, more expensive category cannot be requested; you must purchase the higher category room to receive it. How can I get a room with a Disneyland® Resort view?

Park view rooms are in our main tower, facing Disneyland® Resort, on floors 3 through 7. These rooms are sold as a Disney view rooms and cost more per night than our other category rooms. You must purchase these rooms in advance, and they cannot be requested if you have purchased a different category. Please note that the fireworks can be viewed from various locations around the hotel grounds, including Castaway Cove Water Playground.

What is available at the Mid-Mod Market gift shop at the hotel?

The Mid-Mod Market is in the main tower of the hotel (Building 1) and is open daily from 7AM to 11PM. The market offers sundries such as medicines, sun screens, toiletries; drinks such as juice, milk, beer and wine; Foods such as candy, snacks, baked goods, fruit, microwave meals, soups, cereal, bread, and lunchmeats; Souvenirs such as plush toys, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and collectibles; pool toys and floats and much more! Guests are not able to charge items back to their room.

Is there a guest laundry facility at the hotel?

There is a Guest laundromat at the hotel located at the rear of the property in Building 2, near the Garden Pool. Machines require a credit/debit card, and the cost to wash is $1.25 and the cost to dry is $1.25. There is washing detergent found at the gift shop.

Water Facilities

Can my child be unattended at the water playground?

All children under the age of 16 must be supervised at all times by a guardian 18 and over.

When is the next planned renovation for Castaway Cove, and will the Garden Pool remain open during this time?

From January 15 to 29, 2024, Castaway Cove Water Playground will undergo its next renovation. Despite this, the Garden Pool will continue to welcome visitors, offering a serene oasis for relaxation while improvements are made in other areas.

What are the hours for Castaway Cove Water Playground?

Castaway Cove general area including hot tub spa is open from 10AM to 10PM
Pirate ship and water features shut down promptly at 9PM, but hot tub and children’s pool remain open until 10PM

What are the hours for the Garden Pool?

The Garden Pool is open from 10AM to 10PM. Pool temperature 80°F / 27°C.

What temperature is the water at the water playground and pool?

Hot tub spa maximum temperature of 104°F / 40°C

Please note, the water playground is heated to 80°F / 27°C but runs through fountains in shallow and small quantities which cools quickly.

Is Castaway Cove and the Garden Pool open every day?

Yes, both facilities are open daily, year-round! The Castaway Cove area may close due to severe weather such as lightening, but they will stay open during rain.

Are towels available at the water playground and the pool?

Yes, pool towels are available at both Castaway Cove water playground and at the Garden Pool facilities.

Can we rent the water playground or pool area for a party, or invite outside guests to join us?

No. Castaway Cove water playground and the Garden Pool are private facilities only for the use of registered hotel guests. Outside guests, who are not registered, are not able to use the facilities. Due to the size of our facilities we strictly inforce this rule to allow more space and a peaceful environment to our registered hotel guests. The hotel buildings, grounds and facilities are private property. When you check in, the front desk will give you wristbands for the exact number of registered guests in your room. EVERY member of your party will need to wear the wristbands while they are at the pool facilities if they plan on using the slides or not. You will only be allowed a maximum number of wristbands that can fit in your room. If you have a king room you may only receive a maximum of 3 wrist bands, if you have a room with two double beds or two queen beds you can only have a maximum of 5 wristbands. Wristbands are non-transferable and meant to stay on for the duration of the stay.

Disneyland® Resort/Annual Passport

I have a Disneyland® Resort Annual Passport. Is there a room discount or other benefits available?

Can we buy our Disneyland® Resort tickets at the hotel?

Yes! When you arrive the front desk, the staff will be more than happy to help you with Disneyland® Resort Tickets. We only sell multiday tickets. The Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® Ticket gives you access to both Disneyland® Resort and Disney California Adventure® Resort in the same day. Do you offer a package price that includes room and Disneyland® Resort tickets?

No. Currently there are no package options that include Disneyland® Resort or other tickets. The lowest room rates available for any date are those showing online at hojoanaheim.com. Early booking is recommended to lock in a room rate, as prices increase closer to the arrival date.

Tours / Transportation / Scooters

Does the hotel provide transportation from LAX, or SNA/John Wayne Airport?

There is no transfers provided by the hotel, but the three recommended options for transfers from LAX, Orange County Airport/SNA or Long Beach Airport/LGB are below:

Karmel Shuttle: Local and dependable van shuttle serving SNA, Long Beach/LGB, and LAX airports. Karmel also services the cruise ship ports and terminals at San Pedro and Long Beach which provides access to cruise ships and Catalina Express with daily departures to Catalina Island. Is there a Disneyland® Resort shuttle from the hotel?

Yes. Anaheim Resort Transit (or ART), services the Howard Johnson frequently throughout the day and is a paid service. Please note that the hotel is one of the ten closest hotels to the Disneyland® Resort entrances at less than a 10-minute walk. More time will be required when utilizing the ART shuttle for the short distance.

ART connects you with the entire Anaheim Resort and beyond including, Knott’s Berry Farm, Honda Center, GardenWalk, MainPlace Mall, Outlets at Orange, Anaheim Convention Center, the Packing District and more. Q: We need to rent a mobility scooter. Do you have those available?
A: There is a company that can drop off a scooter at the Howard Johnson front desk for your arrival. It is currently at $40 per day (prices subject to change). At the end of the day we can charge it for you near the lobby, and the company will pick it up from the front desk on your departure day. Do you have a restaurant at the hotel?

On the hotel grounds is the Main Street Market convenience store which is always stocked with quick-grab breakfast and lunch items, as well as beverages, beer, wine, sundries and souvenirs. Plenty to stock up the refrigerator in your room.

Adjacent to the hotel, steps from the lobby, is Mimi’s Café! Mimi’s offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, full bar, specialty coffees and kid’s menu. Prices are low for the area and the value is big! Guests must pay direct at Mimi’s, no room charging available.

Are there restaurants near the hotel?

There are so many restaurant choices near the Howard Johnson, you may find it hard to choose. There are dozens of restaurants walkable from the hotel, with dozens more within a quick cab or shuttle ride. From inexpensive dining like McDonald’s, Panera or IHOP, to causal midscale family restaurants like Mimi’s Café, Bubba Gump Shrimp or Tortilla Jo’s, all the way to fine dining like Catal, Napa Rose or Roy’s of Hawaii, nothing is more than a 15-minute stroll or quick cab ride.
